Our inspiration came from how the pros perform straightening.
They firmly apply heat and pressure to frizz,
targeting it in all directions evenly and thoroughly, right down to the roots.
Our quest to replicate those iron techniques led us to a new development: Wide Carbon Layer Plates.
Through their generous width of 38 mm and three-layer structure, a beautiful and damage-free finish is achievable.

The low-rebound coating applied to the surface of the Wide Carbon Layer
Plates prevents damage to the cuticles caused by friction.
This helps leave your hair tightly packed with water for moisture and shine.

1. The test was conducted in an environment with a temperature of 20 ± 5°C and a humidity of 50 ± 5%, and used hair bundles that had been washed then dried for 7 minutes with a hair dryer. Performing the following on the hair bundles was defined as one set: passing a ReFa POWER STRAIGHT IRON PRO set to 140°C from one end of them to the other for 5 seconds. This was repeated on them for a total of five sets. Before and after the hair iron was applied to them, the hair bundles were wrapped around a cylinder, illuminated with light, and photographed.

Performing the following on the hair bundles was defined as one set: giving them three 5-second sessions of ironing with a ReFa POWER STRAIGHT IRON PRO that was either with or without Carbon Layer Plates, and was set to 140°C in either case. After a total of 15 sets had been performed (equivalent to about 2 weeks of use), the hair surface was photographed.

Less likely to cause water vapor explosions¹ even when used on wet hair

When water comes into contact with a hot plate, it explodes into vapor.¹ This damages the cuticles. The three-layer structure of the Wide Carbon Layer Plates transfers the heat more mildly, preventing water vapor explosions¹ and reducing the damage to your hair.

2. The test used hair that was untreated (had never been dyed, permed, etc.). The hair was sprayed with water first. Performing the following on the hair was defined as one set: giving it five 3-second sessions of ironing with a ReFa POWER STRAIGHT IRON PRO that was either with or without Carbon Layer Plates, and was set to 140°C in either case. After a total of 10 sets had been performed (equivalent to about 10 days of use), the hair surface was imaged with a scanning electron microscope.

The low-rebound coating helps protect the hair, making it less prone to damage

The low-rebound coating applied to the surface of the Wide Carbon Layer Plates absorbs the pressure and clings to your hair tightly but gently. This enables the iron to create a beautiful straight style without damaging your hair.

1. The test used hair that was untreated (had never been dyed, permed, etc.). A ReFa POWER STRAIGHT IRON PRO either with or without Carbon Layer Plates was used on the hair 300 times (equivalent to about 1 month of use), set to 140°C in either case. The hair surface was then imaged with a scanning electron microscope.
